Islam encourages Muslims (Someone Who Submits to the Will of God) to perform good works on earth, therefore the Albanian Australian Islamic Society (AAIS) engages in activities, such as ‘Clean-up Australia Day‘ and ‘Plant a Tree Day‘, that help to preserve our natural environment and benefit others in the broader community.
The AAIS also participates in other events, such as ‘Run Melbourne‘, to raise funds for programs that benefit the broader Australian community.
In 2005, the Albanian Australian Islamic Society (AAIS) held its very first Open Day in 2005.
The event was a wonderful success with approximately 270 people attending the event.
These days, the AAIS opens its doors to the general public during events such as ‘Open House Melbourne‘, ‘Friendship Walk‘, ‘Victorian Mosques Open Day‘, as well as other special occasions.
In 2015, the Albanian Australian Islamic Society (AAIS) worked in conjunction with the Jewish Christian Muslim Association (JCMA) to organise the very first ‘Friendship Walk’.
The JCMA Friendship Walk is an annual event that brings members of Melbourne’s Christian, Jewish and Muslim community together by visiting a Church, Synagogue and Mosque.
